Nothing is more satisfying to me than being a part of the Military community and having the opportunity to serve them whenever possible.
— ShirLee McGarry

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, USA, April 5, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ — ShirLee McGarry is a preeminent and unrivaled Realtor® in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her professional memberships include the National Association of Realtors® (NAR); the Utah Association of Realtors® (UAR); the Salt Lake Board of Realtors® (SLBR); the Women’s Council of Realtors® (WCR) and a Crystal Supporter of the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC). She most recently attained her Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification in 2015 and holds multiple national and state designations and certifications.

ShirLee was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and raised in the Los Angeles suburbs of California and comes from a long line of military family members. Her father, Harold M. Stewart, was reported MIA and killed at the end of WWII and awarded the Purple Heart in 1945 and is buried in Belgium. Through a tragic story of deception and betrayal, when ShirLee turned fifteen, she discovered that she was adopted by her deceased father’s half-sister, ShirLee’s half aunt Mary, who was a quintessential ‘stage mom’. Number one on ShirLee’s bucket list is to one day visit her father’s gravesite to pay tribute and silently thank him for his ultimate sacrifice.

While growing up, ShirLee was raised in the entertainment industry in California and featured on radio at the age of three, performing on national TV shows such as Steve Allen, Bob Hope, Harry Babbitt, and featured on CBS, NBC Christmas specials and the lead actress in Sandy’s Dream Series. As a featured guest performer, she played her accordion on the Lawrence Welk show with Myron Floren.

She attended Alhambra High School in California and graduated early. Her first job was with Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles, at the age of sixteen, starting at entry level delivering mail to all of the departments as a page. She continued working her way up in financial institutions for several years in various disciplines such as bookkeeping, chief teller, loan processor, etc. learning all about the ins and outs of finance. After careful consideration, she decided this was not the career field she wanted to spend her life in, as it had no outlets for her creative yearnings.

ShirLee married John James Halloran who was in the Air Force at the time. They had a daughter named Jodi Lynn, whom she refers to as “The Light of My Life.” They divorced before her daughter was born. She later remarried and had four more children.

ShirLee moved to Utah in 1977 and bought a retail business in Ogden known as Toshis Exotica Pet Shop. She also had an online webpage and graphic design business for small business. (SJM Webdzine)

At this time she also finished her post education and received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. In the 1980’s, she founded two Corporations: Liberty Arts School of the Performing Arts and Showbiz Productions. She trained children in vocal, drama, and dance. Along with her original musical scores and novelty songs, she trained three groups of youth ages 5-17 who performed all across the state of Utah known as ‘The Showbiz Kids.’

ShirLee worked twelve years in higher education at Weber State and Utah State University and many years in corporate America as the Assistant to the Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing for a Fortune 500 company and has extensive experience in the Sales and Marketing field.

ShirLee is also an extremely prolific writer and poet. Writing is her passion. She started writing poetry after enrolling in a continuing education poetry class for fun in 1997 at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She has over 11 publications. Because of her passion for writing and the desire to improve her skills and knowledge, she enrolled in a Master’s writing program at National University in La Jolla, California and obtained her Master of Fine Arts Degree (MFA) in the School of Letters; Creative Writing (fiction) in 2008. She received the honor of the recipient’s distinction as a POET FELLOW from Noble House publishers in London, England and has won many other awards. ShirLee is currently in final production for publishing several humorous short story series for children and young adult’s series and a Sci-Fi Fantasy novel scheduled for publication in the fall of 2016.

ShirLee has always had an interest in the housing industry and proudly says that Utah is a great place to live and call home. She became a licensed Realtor® in 1996 and is an Associate Broker/Realtor® with RealtyPath Success in Sandy, UT and has never regretted her decision. She has experienced, first-hand the trends in the Real Estate market and the steady phenomenal growth Utah has experienced over her last twenty years in the field. “On a professional note,” she says, “In today’s Real Estate market, there is simply no substitute for a good Realtor®.”

Whether you’re aiming to buy or sell property, a Realtor® can make the difference between a smooth transaction and an unsuccessful one. That is where ShirLee’s background, extensive education, and business experience kicks in as a professional Associate Broker/Realtor®. ShirLee lives and works in the proximity to Hill Air Force Base and feels privileged to assist Active-Duty Military members, Veterans and their families who are relocating to or from the area – in buying or selling a home. “Nothing is more satisfying to me than being a part of the Military community and having the opportunity to serve them whenever possible.”
